Based in Amsterdam and with a recent New York office, Robin Toetenel is Ethnic Chic co-owner and interior designer responsible for one of the biggest Netherlands companies, and powerful interior design styles. Within this period, Ethnic Chic has grown from a boutique shop in the heart of Amsterdam to a design company, working on all kinds of residential and commercial projects worldwide, including an online boutique shop with a large selection of exclusive brands. Home Inspiration Ideas shares with you, what we can call it as a mixture of sophisticantion & boho chic.
Amsterdam is known by its picturesque streets, pathways that connect charming houses with canal waters, making this European city one of most looked for holidays. For this home decoration ideas, Robin Toetenel and Ingrid Steyrer, the design duo forming Ethnic Chic, revamped an empty house and did a makeover with some KOKET fashion pieces.
Bespoke furniture was flown in from all over the world to add cultural soul and character to the living spaces, challenging the interior designers to find new products and brands.
The living room set has high ceilings and large windows which the designers used as an advantage. Decorated in tones of aubergine, the designers placed two matching Burlesque consoles on either side of the living room’s marble fireplace. BURLESQUE, the luxury console table’s acrobatic polished brass hoops of the base, paired with exotic reptile embossed velvet.
Moving for bedroom decoration, darker touches and rich finishes were the inspirations that helped to complete the room design with KOKET fashion furniture. KOKET’s Envy lounge chaise makes an opulent statement in the bedroom design, with soft button tufting and sleek polished brass feet. Above the bed, a VIVRE chandelier casts a sultry glow, with the light shining behind 19 genuine agate slices.
The dining room decoration has the best of the European classicism and the interior design team combined some modern decorative details. The black wood furniture gives a more eclectic look to the room decoration.
Even the hallway of this canal house deserved a glamourous makeover that you can only find on luxury homes. Ethnic Chic placed a brass side table in the center of two velvet upholstered chairs, creating a very welcoming room decoration.
